The joys of moving

Storage in Ballina

It has been a stressful couple of weeks, but we have finally moved into our flat and I am now gainfully employed! It took a lot of energy to get here, but we did it. I wish someone would have told me the amount of pressure moving and getting set up puts on you. To anyone who is thinking of moving cities or countries: be healthy and strong because your body will need it. Unfortunately, I haven’t been so lucky. After six gleeful years living without a doctor in the UK I have been to the doctor twice in the six weeks I’ve been back in Australia. I’ve had the flu, cracked a rib, put my back out, got a rash and lost weight!

Farewell London

Farewell Drinks Camino Bar

We have just spent our last weekend in London-and what a great weekend it was! Lots of fun, friends, food and even some sunshine. We did a lot of our favourite London things including coffee, lunch and chocolate brownies at Borough Market, a visit to the Tate Modern and a walk along the south bank, cocktails at a funky new bar in Kings Cross (Camino), a lazy lunch at a gastropub (the Formosa dining room), drinking Monmouth Coffee and eating Neal’s Yard cheeses in Covent Garden, a picnic in the park, and lots and lots of laughs with all our great friends. London is an amazing city and we are both sad to be saying goodbye – there is always something to do and new places to discover. “Continue reading” to see pictures from the weekend. Planning our escape

This one is for JamieLaksh and I are relocating from England to Australia this September. Lately we’ve been planning our move, and as things start to fall into place it’s becoming less stressful and more exciting. We decided to make a vacation of the move, to give us a chance to visit my family and friends in the US. We’ll depart Leeds on August 13th, and resurface in Brisbane September 16th. In between, we’ll see a lot of the US, and a lot of friends and family. Continue reading…
