Planning our escape
Laksh and I are relocating from England to Australia this September. Lately we’ve been planning our move, and as things start to fall into place it’s becoming less stressful and more exciting. We decided to make a vacation of the move, to give us a chance to visit my family and friends in the US. We’ll depart Leeds on August 13th, and resurface in Brisbane September 16th. In between, we’ll see a lot of the US, and a lot of friends and family.
We fly into Boston. After a couple of days there we head to Maine for Adrian and Alex’s wedding. After the wedding we’ll race back to Boston and catch a plane to Chapel Hill, NC. We’ll visit friends there and then head out to the coast to Nags Head to catch up with my folks. After a much-needed week at the beach, we’ll drive across NC to Charlotte to see my cousins and Mimi (my grandmother). From Charlotte we’ll drive home to Columbus, OH with my parents. We’re going to spend a week there to get in some more family time.
From Ohio, we’re planning a railroad journey across to California. We’ll depart Cincinnati for Omaha, where we’ll visit my friends Rob and Avery for a couple of days. From Omaha we’ll overnight to Denver, and spend a couple of days with Derek and Debbie and their son Dylan. After a couple of days exploring Denver we’ve got a “roomette” for the 35-hour journey to California. We’ll spend a few days in California before departing for Brisbane.
We’re really excited for this trip!

Hi I am sending this to Holly and Kathy and Steve so they can enjoy the blog. Hope that is ok. I am sure you won’t mind.

Hi Laksh and Mark,
So not long to go before you come to the land downunder. Bris is only about 2 hours from Bangalow now. Get in contact with us if you need a bed when you arrive in Oz. Your train trip sounds great…nice to see that you will become Amtrack Trailer Trash.

I agree with e,a&j
Mark, you start a new blog in which you announce the better pleasures of life such as food&drink, make a few posts about farewells, and then head off for more than a month? How’s this going to help your page ranking? Better read up on SEO!
Anyways, good to see the blog, I’m always excited when people allow me to peek into their lives, parties and travels.

We haven’t left yet, stay tuned! The whole point of setting it up before we leave is so we can post on the (rail)road.
